I'm... not honestly sure.

[He's thought about this before, but has never settled on anything.]

Maybe a walk. Just a long hike through the nearby area to get a better feel for it. To help a blind man hone his senses.

Mmm... I'm up for that. Have a long one up through here after we're done. Find somewhere interesting for that picnic I brought.

People don't explore the mountains much for some reason. Bet we could discover all sorts of things.

I hadn't intended to do it today... But I wouldn't be opposed to it either.

[He leans into Law a little more, still keeping the man steady in the water.]

[Yes, that's nice. He'd cuddle back, but paralyzed.]

I was thinking maybe more than just today? You gotta admit, it does both of us good to be out and moving.

That's also a viable option. Walking more often will only be positive for both of us in the long run.

It would. Can't be stuck in the village all the time.

Sometimes the place gets a little much after a while. It's good to get away.

I wouldn't have agreed in the past... but I believe I do now.

[The village isn't crowded, but it makes the world seem so very small.]

Ever given any thought of what you would do if the Malnosso began transitioning us out of the enclosure and into the world outside?

[It's a thought that's been on his mind since evaluations of Luceti were announced.]

[There's a pause, and Itachi blinks, then frowns.]

... I don't think I could decide at this point, partner. Not what to do.

[Closing his eyes and wanting to lean into him.]

... I don't know I could work for them, even if all I've heard makes them seem like the only game outside. I'd hate just being kept in a civilian Malnosso hospital, unable to use any of my other skills. I'm not a civilian. But... ships are crewed by MSF, fighters are MSF only pretty well. I don't know if I could cut it as a soldier either.

Perhaps starting as a civilian would be an option, if only to get a feel for what else is out there and how things operate.

[There are, and Law takes it as his cue to shut up. It's Itachi's birthday after all - there's no need to be depressing.]

[They'll be depressing enough later, he's sure. Right now it's time for working some of those kinks out before they build back up again.]

[Sighing quietly as Itachi's fingers work. Yep, plenty of kinks as it is... better get them before more build up.]

Mmmm... that feels good.

[That's the idea, Law. For now, Itachi will just smile and continue.

Later, if they still have the energy for it, they can go on their walk.]

[Mmmm... and later, when Law has all but melted in Itachi's embrace:]

You know, if we stay in here for much longer, we'll turn into prunes.

[At least they'll be comfortable prunes.]

Mmmhmm. Probably should get on that sooner or later.

[Slowly, very slowly, Itachi slips out from underneath the pirate. He keeps him steady the whole time, and as he pulls himself up onto the edge, he leaves himself plenty of room to help Law do the same.]
