Perhaps starting as a civilian would be an option, if only to get a feel for what else is out there and how things operate.

Even though I know that will be difficult.

[A lowering of the eyes.]

Perhaps. We'll see if the time comes.

... we'll know we're moving towards that if the MSF come into the enclosure and start trying to recruit.

[Itachi nods.

Then he begins to slowly massage Law's shoulders. Really, there are better times for this conversation.]

[There are, and Law takes it as his cue to shut up. It's Itachi's birthday after all - there's no need to be depressing.]

[They'll be depressing enough later, he's sure. Right now it's time for working some of those kinks out before they build back up again.]

[Sighing quietly as Itachi's fingers work. Yep, plenty of kinks as it is... better get them before more build up.]

Mmmm... that feels good.

[That's the idea, Law. For now, Itachi will just smile and continue.

Later, if they still have the energy for it, they can go on their walk.]

[Mmmm... and later, when Law has all but melted in Itachi's embrace:]

You know, if we stay in here for much longer, we'll turn into prunes.

Perhaps.

[At least they'll be comfortable prunes.]

Should we prepare to leave?

[Very comfortable prunes.]

Mmmhmm. Probably should get on that sooner or later.

[Slowly, very slowly, Itachi slips out from underneath the pirate. He keeps him steady the whole time, and as he pulls himself up onto the edge, he leaves himself plenty of room to help Law do the same.]

[At first at the edge, Law is as absolutely helpless as he's been the entire time in the water. Dead weight, and very, very conscious about it.

But as soon as he's only still waist deep in the water, he begins to start twitching, gaining the smallest bits of his strength back. Get him out a little more and he'll be able to finish the job.]

[Itachi will pull him all the way up onto the side with relative ease. No reason to take any chances.]

[And once he's out... and well, not even totally out... once the water passes his knees, he twitches once more, dead weight no more. He props himself up as soon as he's out, feeling back to normal.]

[Were their roles reversed, Law would have done the same.]

[Law stretches, getting to his feet. Plenty of energy left.

He offers a hand to Itachi, smiling. He has something to give him when they get dressed.]

[Assured that Law needs no further help, Itachi accepts the hand.]

[Pulling him up, and then padding towards the towels. He brings them back so they can dry off.]

[Itachi begins to follow at first, but stops as he realizes Law is returning.

He accepts a towel but, as he had with the soap, he gently begins patting his partner off with it rather than himself.]

[More excuses to touch Itachi. He likes that. Law begins carefully drying him off in turn, motions outright delicate around the wings, because who wants to accidentally pull feathers.]

Gotta surprise for you when we get dressed.

[It's very small.]

Mm?

[He'll be more interested in that once he's finished here, he's sure.]

[Smiling as he continues to towel Itachi off.]

You'll see.

[Itachi finishes the rest of the job in silence, finally tucking his towel around his waist.]

[Now that they are dry, with towels around their waists, and not a naked sight fit to give prudes heart attacks, Law leans in for a kiss before nudging his partner with hip playfully.

Shall they get dressed and brave the wild outside for the perfect picnic spot? Or should they steal a few minutes more, enjoy the privacy being up here brings them, before heading to the change room?]

[Itachi won't be in much of a hurry either way. He moves toward the dressing room, but at a casual pace.]
