[Law shifts against Itachi as he slowly comes to, sleepily pressing a kiss against his collarbone as he does so.]

Hey...

[Softly. The pirate threads his fingers through the ninja's hair as he nuzzles. It's a pleasant, affectionate haze he's floating in - and one he doesn't need to quickly leave. After all, they both have the day to themselves.]

Good morning.

[He brushes a thumb along Law's cheek in return, smiling a little.]

You seem comfortable.

[Not that he's too keen on moving either.]

Am comfortable. [Drowsily murmuring as he continues to run his fingers through Itachi's hair. Smooths down some of Itachi's feathers.] Gotta a great pillow.

Not too bony?

[There's the smallest bit of amusement in his tone as he mutters this into the top of Law's head.]

[Law gives an amused huff as one hand leaves Itachi's hair and slides down his side.] Bony? Nah, not at all.

Nice and firm, now...

[There's the briefest moment of concerned vanity on Itachi's part as the comment causes him to worry that he might have gained too much weight while in Luceti, but that passes quickly as he's been keeping better tabs on his health all around.

He chuckles instead.]

Have you been grooming me all this time just to be a cushion for you?

[The other hand leaves Itachi's hair and joins the other in running over Itachi. No softness here, just hard muscle under the ninja's bedclothes and not an inch of fat.]

Found me out have you? [Teasing, as he does. Even if Itachi hadn't been keeping tabs on his own health, Law would have picked up the slack. Danger of marrying a doctor. As it is, Itachi's healthier status would recoup eventually some of that lost stamina if kept up.] Guess I'm in trouble now.

Very much so.

[Though if this is the case, then Law's punishment seems to be nothing more than a proper kiss as he shifts close enough to manage it.]

We should get our day started soon.

[Law's going to draw that kiss out, hooking a leg around his husband and rolling him on top of him if Itachi allows it. The pirate smiles playfully, then asks.]

Should I be worried?

[Right. The day. Itachi's birthday. The plans. Breakfast.]

Mmmhmm. What do you want for breakfast?

[The ninja allows it, raising both brows a little.]

Not your morning breath. [A good-natured tease.]

What do we have in the way of fruit pastries?

[Another amused huff. Someone's sassy this morning]

Apple cheese danishes. I brought some home on my way home from the town clinic. [Leaning up a little.] Sounds like you're in the mood for something sweet.

[And sudden peck on the nose! Drawing back cheekily, and grinning.]

Sweeter than me and my breath, anyway.

I am, actually.

[In response to the peck on the nose, Itachi leans back down to bump his forehead lightly against his husband's before slowly untangling himself from the other's limbs.]

And some orange juice.

[He's just going to let his husband get up, before moving to do the same.]

Want that fresh squeezed?

That would be preferable.

[He'd say something about not wanting Law to do it when he could do it just fine, but he'll stop himself. The pirate probably isn't going to have any of that right now.

Not that he won't try to do it without saying anything anyway.]

What were you wanting for yourself?

[Itachi knows his husband too well.]

An omelet with all the fixings and some coffee. Maybe some yogurt.

[Replace maybe with yes, I want some yogurt too please. He's hungry.]

[There are rarely any 'maybe's when it comes to Law mentioning food. Itachi begins walking toward the stairs, a small smile on his face.]

"All the fixings" covers quite a lot.

Sure does. [Law will be right after Itachi as soon as he puts on the robe Itachi got him last birthday.] I'm feeling indulgent this morning.

Oh? I hope we have enough here, then.

["You and your appetite," he might as well say. The smirk is clear in his voice even if it doesn't reach his face.]

We shall see~

[He hears that smirk. And raises with one of his own that promises utter decimation of the contents of the fridge.]

[This means he'll have to go out shopping again very soon. Not that he ever minds. It's actually a fairly relaxing activity.

He'd be adding plenty of fruit to his own breakfast, as he didn't exactly intend to have a stack of pastries.

The cats are already stirring, mewing when they come down the stairs to let them know their bowls need filling.]

[Those mews are higher pitched than normal. Law raises a brow as three kittens bound into the kitchen.]

Oh man...

[And then he gets out their fish as normal (On the menu today? Tuna). He'll start preparing it as soon as he has the oranges juiced for Itachi.]

[Itachi stops. Kittens? They hadn't been gone long enough for any of their cats to have kittens. None of them had been pregnant before they'd left, either. His sharingan activates, and he's able to see three familiar signatures.

It's the same three cats as usual, just de-aged.]

Odd... [This comes out as a mutter.] The shift has affected more than us this time.

... yeah. It's rare it touches the animals.

There have been small time based shifts going on for a while, but that's been just environmental things. Worst that has happened is that a resident made building's disappeared for an hour. Nothing like this.

If it's anything like a normal shift then it won't last.

[And it hopefully wouldn't affect them too negatively. He's gotten more attached to these animals than he should have allowed himself.]

Don't think it is. This is more like... ripples. Like from a stone thrown in a pond.
