[In response to the peck on the nose, Itachi leans back down to bump his forehead lightly against his husband's before slowly untangling himself from the other's limbs.]

And some orange juice.

[He's just going to let his husband get up, before moving to do the same.]

Want that fresh squeezed?

That would be preferable.

[He'd say something about not wanting Law to do it when he could do it just fine, but he'll stop himself. The pirate probably isn't going to have any of that right now.

Not that he won't try to do it without saying anything anyway.]

What were you wanting for yourself?

[Itachi knows his husband too well.]

An omelet with all the fixings and some coffee. Maybe some yogurt.

[Replace maybe with yes, I want some yogurt too please. He's hungry.]

[There are rarely any 'maybe's when it comes to Law mentioning food. Itachi begins walking toward the stairs, a small smile on his face.]

"All the fixings" covers quite a lot.

Sure does. [Law will be right after Itachi as soon as he puts on the robe Itachi got him last birthday.] I'm feeling indulgent this morning.

Oh? I hope we have enough here, then.

["You and your appetite," he might as well say. The smirk is clear in his voice even if it doesn't reach his face.]

We shall see~

[He hears that smirk. And raises with one of his own that promises utter decimation of the contents of the fridge.]

[This means he'll have to go out shopping again very soon. Not that he ever minds. It's actually a fairly relaxing activity.

He'd be adding plenty of fruit to his own breakfast, as he didn't exactly intend to have a stack of pastries.

The cats are already stirring, mewing when they come down the stairs to let them know their bowls need filling.]

[Those mews are higher pitched than normal. Law raises a brow as three kittens bound into the kitchen.]

Oh man...

[And then he gets out their fish as normal (On the menu today? Tuna). He'll start preparing it as soon as he has the oranges juiced for Itachi.]

[Itachi stops. Kittens? They hadn't been gone long enough for any of their cats to have kittens. None of them had been pregnant before they'd left, either. His sharingan activates, and he's able to see three familiar signatures.

It's the same three cats as usual, just de-aged.]

Odd... [This comes out as a mutter.] The shift has affected more than us this time.

... yeah. It's rare it touches the animals.

There have been small time based shifts going on for a while, but that's been just environmental things. Worst that has happened is that a resident made building's disappeared for an hour. Nothing like this.

If it's anything like a normal shift then it won't last.

[And it hopefully wouldn't affect them too negatively. He's gotten more attached to these animals than he should have allowed himself.]

Don't think it is. This is more like... ripples. Like from a stone thrown in a pond.

... Perhaps.

[He follows the kittens into the kitchen, keeping tabs on them as he does.]

We'll have to watch for further changes.

Time - [Law pauses for a moment as he finishes juicing an orange, making a bit of a face. He's not trying to be punny in the least.] will tell, but I have an inkling about the cause.

[... they're getting underfoot. Ack. Stepping carefully. Your fish will be ready soon.] Mister John's time shift.

That's the best bet there is right now.

[The only thing that made sense, really. It's the first instance he's aware of that time has been forcefully turned back with those affected actually remembering it.]

I intend to talk to him soon about that and...

[Hello pinpricks of claws.]

[He's got Sumire half way up his pants while Amaya and Pumpkin whine piteously up at him.]

Climbing me like a tree won't make it come faster.

[Itachi reaches over and casually plurks Sumire off of his husband. The other two are gathered up in his arms.

They can remain there until their food is ready.]

It's a good idea, if you can manage some privacy. No doubt he's already expecting and dealing with questions, though.

[Sumire looks at Itachi pleadingly. Will you make him work faster?]

No doubt. But I have something he might want to see... he may grant it for that.

[The cat's pleading eyes go ignored. Their food will be ready when it's ready.]

Oh?

[He won't pry Law for details, but it's curious to hear all the same.]

I did a field autopsy out there on one of the sacrificed. [Such cheerful birthday talk.] ... the results were... interesting.

[He stops a moment, and it's clear he has to force himself to change his train of thought.]

... But not just yet. There's breakfast to make.

And eat. Not the best meal conversation.

[Even though serious matters is idle chit chat for them.

Here the kittens send up a chorus of mews as if to remind both men that they're hungry too. Law sets aside a tall glass of freshly squeezed juice as he reaches for a fresh knife.]

... they're eager this morning. I almost forgot how much of a growing appetite they had.

They did. And there's two of us here to feed them. It should be done twice as fast, mm?

[He bends down to distract them with pettings for a few moments. Though they make sure to sniff his hands first and look disappointed when there's no food there.]
