I guess they weren't entirely lying about our powers having an incompatibility with this place. [It makes more sense as to why the enemy even allowed it, if they were all expected to drop dead because of it.]

Although it was not instantaneous. [That would have almost been better.]

It's something to be wary of in the future. [Then the briefest of pauses.] ... How are you?

[It is, but he wonders, if it were to happen again, whether they would have any control over it.]

[Well that's something at least. Not that he expected any complications, things had been fine the last time as well.

That time Thiazi gained control of people in the city, a few weeks before you arrived. Some of the worst effected ended up attacking others with the intention of taking their lives.

And you were attacked by someone close, I assume.

[That would be his best guess, given his hesitancy to talk about it. Though of course that could also be just because he doesn't want his brother to know he was killed.]

Anyway my point is, things like that can happen as well as what the city just went through.

It wouldn't be a problem if we could use the Sharingan. There were no obvious signs that anything was happening, until it was too late.

Getting a decent audience with them seems to require more effort than simply walking up and addressing one, and unfortunately we are at their mercy in that regard.
