[Itachi has remained surprisingly unaffected by the current event, something he is positive of and incredibly glad for. While such events had helped move along his relationship with Law in the first place, he has no desire to add further complications on top of this.

Not wanting to remain cooped up in the house, and hoping that any chance for him to be affected from here on out has since past, the ninja can be found feeding birds near the fountain at the center of town. It's been a while since he's done this, despite it being a past-time he enjoys. It's also a good way to get out and learn about current events without simply sitting with his journal laid open all day.

The only odd thing about this scenario is that, despite the variety of birds that can be found within the village, the majority of those alighting to pick at the scattered breadcrumbs are crows.]

Yes, they were. They've been with me since I was five or six.

I've been seeing more of that lately - people arriving with their animal companions. It doesn't seem all that long ago that they started allowing them.

[He tosses out a couple more bread pieces.]

These were all here before me.

Really? Have you been here very long?

Two and a half years, I think. Or thereabouts.

No, it's been an eye opening experience though. I can't really say I'd have chosen to come here, but it's not so bad.

I can't say that everything I've experienced here has been unpleasant.

[She seems to pick up on that, a little at least, and makes sure he gets the cup without spilling. Anything else would be rude.]

There are times when it can be truly pleasant.

Thankfully, the, ah, season of love seems to have passed. It doesn't always work out the best for everyone involved.

Perhaps that's simply because I kept to myself for the greater part of it.
