[This afternoon finds one CHEERFUL(?) Itachi walking out of the grocery, a bright SMILE(?) on his face and a full bag in his arms. He's HUMMING(??) something under his breath, a light bounce to his step.

He pulls out his journal casually, sending an unfiltered message to his brother.]

Sasuke. Are you recovering well?

[All of this is, of course, completely out of character for the ninja and possibly disturbing to anyone familiar with him.]

[Katara is heading towards the grocery store at the same time Itachi is exiting it, and she barely recognizes him. They hadn't really met when he was grown up, after all, and she's never seen a ninja besides Naruto smiling quite that bright.

..well. It's a small village. Katara couldn't hope to avoid him forever, and despite the horror of the story Shikamaru had told her, Itachi hadn't hurt anyone since he'd been here, meaning she could probably proceed.

And, quite uncharacteristically for her, instead of an instant overpowering righteous rage to temper her fear and demand a confrontation she feels more - indifferent? - towards the fact that she is about to have to walk right by him or run away.]

[Grune just so happens to be passing by as he comes out from the grocery store. Seeing him look so cheerful, she gives him a bright smile and a wave.]

[Recovering? Yes. Well? Absolutely not. He feels like shit. He still isn't fit to leave his bed, and even though he is doing much better, he will not be happy about anything but a full recovery, thanks very much.

He is surprised to hear Itachi's voice over the journal, though. It's a pleasant surprise even, if it wasn't for the nagging feeling that something is off. Itachi hadn't even put up a filter? Sasuke will be fixing that.]

[He hasn't been on the journals at all lately - really, he threw his book aside for a long while - but after a few odd run-ins with people in street already he decided it was okay to skim it. But that ends up recorded with a curious tone as he passes this one.
