[Itachi has remained surprisingly unaffected by the current event, something he is positive of and incredibly glad for. While such events had helped move along his relationship with Law in the first place, he has no desire to add further complications on top of this.

Not wanting to remain cooped up in the house, and hoping that any chance for him to be affected from here on out has since past, the ninja can be found feeding birds near the fountain at the center of town. It's been a while since he's done this, despite it being a past-time he enjoys. It's also a good way to get out and learn about current events without simply sitting with his journal laid open all day.

The only odd thing about this scenario is that, despite the variety of birds that can be found within the village, the majority of those alighting to pick at the scattered breadcrumbs are crows.]

[Aside from Jean Valjean, there's no appeal like well deserved revolution. Even if it was ultimately futile, the people rising up was something he wanted to see at home.]

[...Perhaps he could convince Law to read it to him. Reading can be such a strain nowadays. Having to activate his sharingan for it seems a little ridiculous.

[Even if he's not cleared to fight, he's not going to like being parted with it. A swordsman walking around with no sword is like walking around naked.]

I wouldn't imagine they'd be particularly backlogged. If all they need to do is fix a few nicks it should be back to you in no time.

[Now that he thinks about it, he should probably have some more kunai commissioned. He might need them later.]

I think I'll still pick up a spare sword while I'm there. Given what happened at Vaskoth, a Luceti made one would be a good idea to have around.

[Especially after the events of the mad scramble to be deployed to fight and the harm having their usual weapons barred from the fight had caused. If the Malnosso forbade them again due to them not being manufactured on this world, he wanted something reliable he could grab in a hurry and trust.]

...That's true. It never hurts to take precautions.

[As much as he might try to get by without weapons, there are some things a well placed kunai is just better for.]

[Sometimes precautions fall through, though. Keeping his wings covered didn't do much to keep the droids from getting at them. But they never hurt, and Law hums thoughtfully at his partner.]

You thinking of picking up anything there yourself?

I might... if it appears that a few more kunai would be handy.

[A sword of his own might not hurt either, but he's not terribly certain about picking one up again just yet.]

[Law's thoughts on the matter are that it wouldn't hurt at all to pick up a few new kunai. A sword would be good for dealing with Shift Hunters by beheading, as well. Certainly easier. And it would be nice to spar Itachi in a pure duel of swordsmanship.

But there was a reason Law never gifted Itachi with weapons (even though it was a common type of gift from him). Itachi loved peace, and while there was no one better at what he could do, he didn't want to do it if necessary.]

We'll have to see what Mister Sokka has forged and gotten in stock, then. Though if we find any explosive tags, I'm steering clear.

[Law hasn't forgotten that one time that he managed to set off the damn things by accident (which he told you once upon a thread). He's never stopped being wary around them since.]

[Itachi loves peace, it's true. Unfortunately, sometimes one has to take up a weapon for the sake of keeping it.

He appreciates the lack of weapons as gifts, however. He spent so much time tied up in the world of ninja that sometimes it's nice to be given things that show other appreciate other aspects of his life.

That would be for the best. They're not for everyone.

[As in surviving through them. Perk of being a Grand Line pirate. If you blow him up, that might not be nearly enough to finish him.

And depending on the pirate, not nearly enough to do more than singe him or her.]
