[Keeping his sharingan active constantly is more draining than usual. For now, Itachi has let his eyes revert back to their natural state, leaving him completely blind as he sits atop the rail of the bridge near the item shop.

He hasn't yet picked out a place to live, instead sleeping on the ground in whatever out of the way location seems the most comfortable at the time. At some point he's going to have to settle in somewhere. Perhaps after he's confronted his brother.

That can't be held off forever.

He's been turning a flat stone over in his hand, and now he tosses it out across the river. Even without his sight he can hear it skip at least three times on the water.]

[So he's just been walking around the village all day, drawing a general map of the place (IN HIS MIND) when he spots Itachi there throwing rocks. Oh the guy must be bored. He'll leave him alone then--]

[Itachi hears another set of footsteps approach out of the stillness and stop. Judging by the hesitation, it's either someone who's found him particularly interesting or someone who recognizes him. With all the new arrivals, he's banking on the latter.

He lets his sharingan flare up for a just a moment, long enough to catch a familiar chakra signature out of the corner of his eyes. He'd never had much contact with this particular ninja, but he definitely knew of his clan.]

[Now that they've gotten the clan names out of the way, Shino thinks for a moment. He remains cool, and calm on the outside, but he's actually secretly getting his bugs prepared in case of an attack. Hmm, if he fights him by himself and loses, that could spell trouble. Besides he doesn't really have a REASON to fight Itachi. At least not yet.

The bug tracker trick prooobably won't work either will it? He knows his clan so he'll be suspecting it.]

There's been a lot of you arriving lately. [His attention is back on the river now, or would be if he could actually see it. He's one of the new arrivals himself, but he sees no need to comment on this.]

[Another visitor. It's doubtful this one is a ninja just from the sound of their approach. He doesn't activate his sharingan or turn his head to feign looking her way, but he's wary of her presence all the same.]

[Itachi blinks, trying to decide whether or not she's serious before coming to the conclusion that it doesn't matter.

He chuckles lightly.]

I could no more stop this river from flowing than I could stop the rain from falling when it wants to. Perhaps you should wait for winter.

[Naruto's been scouting the village for signs of Sasuke or other Konoha ninja who might show up -- despite the fact that he should be scouting under his bed more -- when he catches sight of Itachi. After approaching a bit, he stops in his tracks to keep a safe distance.

Because their last encounter wasn't the most delightful one.]

[Seems there may be another ninja nearby. The presence is familiar, but Itachi doesn't acknowledge it yet. He keeps his head facing the water, but his ears remain open.]
