[This particular new feather is walking slowly through town, glancing around with a curious but detached sort of gaze. More than anything else, he looks lost.

Itachi could have snuck around for a while, done reconnaissance in the proper ninja fashion, but he was so thrown off by the mere matter of his continued existence that he hadn't even bothered.

He's silent, taking in everything without appearing to be doing so, journal held loosely in one hand.]

[Itachi stops, turning slowly to give the woman a look that says he has no idea who she is.]

[Well. Too late now, Sheena, he totally thinks you're insane. ...And maybe a threat.]

...That's you, right?

[His eyes narrow slightly, but he doesn't move.]

Yes. That is my name.

[This could be going worse.]

I'm Sheena. ...Sorry I surprised you.

That's not a problem.

But... I would like to know where I am.

It's called Luceti. ...If you bring your book over here I can show you a better explanation than any I'd be able to give you.

[He hesitates only a moment, then steps over and holds his journal out to her.]

[She takes it and opens it, flipping just a few pages before holding it back out, still open, to the beginning of Raine's guide]

[He frowns at the page he's shown.]

This is Luceti. It's a whole different world than the one you came from. The Malnosso are in charge here; there's a barrier around the village and its surrounding area keeping...uh, us in, other stuff out, or both.

[If he's bothered by any of this, he doesn't let it show, just nods for her to continue.]

You've got wings that're really sensitive and you'll die if you lose both of them. ...Sometimes the Malnosso take us away for experiments. I honestly don't know anymore if they're really the ones in charge of everything.

[He'll refrain from asking about someone who should already be dead for now. The book might cover it and he doesn't know how much she knows.]

What determines who's brought here?

I hate to say it, but I don't have any idea.

[And she doesn't think anyone else does either.]

A lot of times there's at least one other important person from your world though.

[Others? He hopes not.]

Yeah, I figured. ...The first time you were here we were kinda...friends. And the second time was sorta the same. But it happens to a lot of people, leaving and coming back.

[Friends? It sounded now like she was playing him for a fool.

Very little in his expression changed, save that any confusion that had started to show through was replaced with a complete absence of emotion. He shut his book with a quick snap.]

[Ouch. Sheena actually flinches. But she kind of figured it'd sound like too much to believe.]

Fine. Be that way. But ask Albert, if you find him, and he'll tell you the same thing - you've been here before.

By the way. How were you doing, back in your world? [She is so implying that she knows something.]

[He had no doubt that something wearing his face, whether it had really been him or not, had been there previously. He would need to give it more time.

Albert was an unfamiliar name, and he filed it away for future reference.

He didn't stop walking at her question. That would imply that she'd hit a nerve, and she didn't need to know that.]
