[Itachi doesn't get drunk, not in any way that shows, anyhow. He's the sort of stoic, no-nonsense individual who never appears to be affected by anything, even when he is.

He hardly looks it now, as he makes his way back to his apartment, but the ever so slight unevenness in his footsteps might be a giveaway to some.

Once he's home, he opens up his journal and just stares at the pages for a while before speaking.]

What good would sympathy do? It doesn't provide answers for what either of us is seeking.

You don't need to reveal yourself to me. You're alive, and that means you are searching for a purpose to that existence. Without that meaning, life is no different from death, save that it must be continually endured--and in that, it is worse.

The Malnosso have forced you into this life, but youare the only one to decide what you will do with it. Whether you hate them for it or despair at the reality, this is the truth, and salvation.
